The spray tower is an environmental protection equipment that realizes exhaust gas purification through gas-liquid contact, with simple structure, efficient purification and strong adaptability, it is widely used in chemical, electroplating, spraying, printing, pharmaceutical, building materials and other industries, which can effectively treat harmful pollutants such as acid and alkali mist, dust, volatile organic compounds (VOCs), and is a key pretreatment or deep treatment device for industrial exhaust gas emissions.

From the perspective of general structure, the spray tower is mostly designed with a vertical cylindrical or square tower body, and the core is composed of five parts: air intake system, spray system, packing layer, gas-liquid separation layer, and circulation system. The air intake system includes air inlet and airflow distribution plate to ensure that the exhaust gas enters the tower evenly; The spray system is composed of pumps, pipes and nozzles, which can atomize the absorbent solution (such as acid-base solution, water or special agents) into fine droplets; The packing layer is filled with hollow balls, Bauer rings and other fillers to expand the gas-liquid contact area; The gas-liquid separation layer is equipped with a baffle or mist eliminator to prevent the droplets from being discharged with the purified gas; The circulation system contains a water tank and dosing device to realize the circulation and concentration adjustment of the absorbent solution.

Its working principle is based on "gas-liquid reverse contact": the exhaust gas containing pollutants enters from the bottom of the tower and flows upwards; The absorbent liquid is sprayed from top to bottom after atomization by the nozzle, and is in full contact with the exhaust gas in the packing layer. At this time, harmful components in the exhaust gas (such as acid mist, alkali mist) react with the absorbent solution, the dust is adsorbed by the droplets, and the VOCs are removed by dissolution or chemical action. The purified gas is discharged from the top of the tower after being defogged through the gas-liquid separation layer. The waste liquid containing pollutants is returned to the water tank, recycled after dosing and adjusting, and then treated after the concentration reaches the standard.

The core advantages of the spray tower are: high purification efficiency, the removal rate of acid and alkali exhaust gas can reach more than 90%, and the removal rate of VOCs in medium and low concentrations exceeds 70%; Strong adaptability, the absorbent liquid can be adjusted according to the type of exhaust gas, and the treatment air volume covers 500-50000m³/h; Easy operation and maintenance, simple equipment structure, low component failure rate, only need to monitor the concentration of absorbent liquid and packing status on a daily basis. However, cooling devices are required to treat high-temperature exhaust gases, and high-concentration VOCs need to be equipped with activated carbon adsorption and other equipment to ensure the purification effect and stable operation of the equipment.
