Drum humidifier is a humidification and solidification equipment designed specifically for drying dust (such as fly ash, slag, metallurgical dust). Through the synergistic effect of drum rotation and water mist spraying, the dust and water are evenly mixed to a moisture content of 15%~25%, preventing secondary dust flying and converting the dust into transportable wet materials. It is widely used in industries such as power, building materials, metallurgy, and garbage treatment. It is a key environmental protection equipment that connects dust removal systems with material transportation/disposal links.

Its working principle is based on "drum mixing+fine humidification": the main body of the equipment is a tilted rotating drum (with a tilt angle of 3 °~5 °, convenient for material transportation), and multiple sets of copying plates are installed inside the drum; After entering the drum through the feeding port, the dry dust is repeatedly lifted and scattered by the plate as the drum rotates; At the same time, the spray system above the drum (including high-pressure atomizing nozzles) adjusts the water spray amount in real time according to the dust humidity, atomizes the water into small droplets (particle size 50-100 μ m), and fully contacts and mixes with the raised dust; The humidified dust continues to be flipped and stirred inside the drum to confirm uniform moisture content, and is finally discharged from the discharge port as a wet material without dust. It can be directly transported by a belt conveyor or disposed of by landfill.

The structural design focuses on "effective humidification and stable operation": firstly, the drum structure is made of carbon steel or stainless steel plates with a thickness of 8-12mm, and the inner wall plates are spiral distributed (to increase the frequency of material flipping). Some equipment is equipped with wear-resistant (based on actual reports) lining plates (such as high manganese steel lining plates) to reduce dust erosion and wear; The second is the sprinkler system, equipped with a filtering device (to prevent nozzle blockage) and a variable frequency water pump, which can automatically adjust the water spray volume according to the dust flow rate (0~100m ³/h), and confirm that the humidification uniformity is ≥ 90%; The third is the transmission system, which is driven by a gear reduction motor and supported by rollers and pulleys to rotate the drum. The speed is controlled at 5-15r/min, balancing the mixing effect and conveying efficiency.

The core advantages are reflected in three aspects: first, good dust prevention effect, stable control of dust moisture content at 15%~25% after humidification, no dust flying, meeting the dust emission requirements in GB 12348 "Emission Standard for Industrial Enterprise Boundary Environmental Noise"; Secondly, it has strong adaptability and can handle various types of dry dust with particle sizes ranging from 0.1 to 10mm and packing densities ranging from 0.5 to 1.5 t/m ³. By adjusting the water spray volume and drum speed, it can adapt to different dust characteristics; The third is stable operation with low maintenance, simple equipment structure, few vulnerable parts (mainly nozzles and liners), low failure rate, annual operating rate ≥ 90%, and operation and maintenance costs only 60%~80% of similar humidification equipment.

Typical application scenarios include: power industry (humidification of coal-fired boiler fly ash to avoid transportation dust), building materials industry (humidification of cement kiln dust for subsequent resource utilization), metallurgical industry (humidification of blast furnace slag dust in steel plants to reduce pollution during disposal), and waste treatment (humidification of incineration fly ash to reduce the risk of heavy metal diffusion). Currently, drum humidifiers are achieving fully automatic humidification control through intelligent upgrades (installing humidity sensors and PLC control systems), further improving operational convenience and humidification accuracy.
